Classic Cocktails - Block Print Series

Illustration
Living in Nashville, I have been exposed to mixology and more modern interpretations of classic cocktails through friends that I have in the bartending industry. I wanted to pay tribute to some of my favorite classic cocktails with this series of block prints. You can find all this prints avialble in my Etsy Shop.

The Moscow Mule

The Moscow Mule is an American cocktail made with vodka, ginger beer, and lime. This cocktail reached it's hight in popularity during the vodka craze of the 1950's. The cocktail was invented in 1941 by an an East Coast spirits distributor and ginger beer producer.

Negroni
The Negroni print is inspired by an Italian cocktail developed in 1919 of the same name. The Negroni consists of equal parts Gin, Campari and Vermouth. After discovering this cocktail at a local Nashville Speak Easy concept bar, it quickly became a favorite. I hope you take the time to discover the wonders of the Negroni.
 Old Fashioned
The Old Fashioned print is inspired by the American cocktail dating back to 1806 of the same name. Some say the Old Fashioned was derived from the first American cocktail referred to as the Bitter Sling.

Through the 1800's there were many variations of the Old Fashioned until around the 1880's when a Louisville based bartender concocted his own variation of the popular cocktail and brought it to the Waldort-Astoria bar in New York City.
Cuba Libre
There are many conflicting stories as to origin of the Cuba Libre but it was undoubtably developed in Cuba after Cuba's introduction to Coca-Cola somewhere around the turn of the twentieth century. Spanish for "Free Cuba", this cocktail celebrates the liberation of Cuba from Spain during the Spanish American war.
Zombie
The Zombie is a tiki style cocktail that dates back to the 1930's. The Zombie also known as " Skull Puncher" is a deadly concoction of various rums, fruit juices and bitters. The smooth fruity flavors of this cocktail mask the skull punching kick you will receive the closer to the bottom you get.
